CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna, Philippines — Police arrested on Friday two suspects in the killing of the wife of former vice mayor Ferdinand Ramos of Sto. Tomas, Batangas.
Ramos’ sister Florina and his daughter-in-law Joan Zara were arrested at their residences in Barangay Tambo, Lipa City and Barangay 2, Sto.Tomas, respectively.
A manhunt for the alleged gunman, Jerry Rabano, and his unidentified cohort is ongoing.
Police said a daughter of the victim, Andriana Lopena and son Ferdinand Jr., husband of Joan Zara, submitted sworn statements linking the suspects to the killing of Edelina Ramos (not Adelina as earlier reported).
The body of the victim, which bore three gunshot wounds in the head, was found covered with a blanket and a towel along the road in Sitio Tagbakin, Barangay Halang, Lipa City on Monday.
