MANILA, Philippines — Caloocan Mayor Oscar Malapitan led the inauguration of the city’s first People’s Park Thursday evening.
The 6,229-square-meter park is an open space beside the new city hall on 6th Avenue in Grace Park. The park has a playground and an interactive fountain for the residents’ entertainment.
It also has fitness equipment and enough space for walking and jogging. The park also has clean restrooms.
Malapitan said he ordered the development of the People’s Park right after the inauguration of the New City Hall in December 2017.
“We want everyone, especially our children, to have a place where they can spend their leisure time. Families and friends can stay in this place to bond,” he said.
The park is open every day from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. It is equipped with closed-circuit television cameras and has guards to secure the area.
