Come forward, PNP urges cyber bullying victims

MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine National Police (PNP) yesterday urged victims of cyber bullying to come forward and report their ordeal instead of remaining silent.

PNP spokesman Col. Bernard Banac issued the reminder during a press conference at Camp Crame after records show the number of cyber bullying cases increased by 22.22 percent last year.

Banac said 11 cases were documented in 2018, slightly higher compared to nine incidents in 2017. For this year, two cyber bullying cases have been recorded.

Among these victims are girls whose compromising photographs were uploaded on social media platforms such as Facebook.
