CAAP worker caught with grenade at NAIA
MANILA, Philippines — A passenger on a domestic flight was arrested at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 2 (NAIA-2) on Friday afternoon for allegedly carrying a grenade without legal documents.
Deogracias Pulmano, allegedly a Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) employee, was arrested at the initial screening at NAIA-2’s southwing departure area after an MK2 fragmentation grenade was detected in his backpack.
Pulmano failed to present documents to show he was allowed to carry the grenade.
He is in the custody of the police Aviation Security Group while charges have yet to be filed against him with the Pasay prosecutor’s office.
CAAP insiders said they have an employee with the same name but they are checking where he is assigned.
