CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna, Philippines — Several improvised explosive devices and ammunition were among those recovered as government troopers seized a camp of the New People’s Army (NPA) in Quezon on Wednesday.
The camp was recovered following an encounter in Barangay Canaway, General Nakar.
Brig. Gen. Edward Carranza, Calabarzon police director, said the camp, which was believed used for training NPA recruits, could accommodate up to 20 persons.
On Sunday, the military overran an NPA camp in Barangay Monteclaro, San Jose, Occidental Mindoro.
The military said a radio amplifier, three cell phones, sewing machines and subversive documents were recovered at the scene.
