MANILA, Philippines — Eight drug suspects were killed in police operations in Calabarzon in the past two days.
An alias Onel and Mama Pagetoden reportedly drew their guns when they sensed they had sold shabu to undercover agents in Silang and Bacoor City in Cavite, respectively, yesterday.
Col. Eleazar Matta, Laguna police director, said Hubert Vergara, alias Benjie, was killed in a shootout with anti-narcotics agents in Barangay Bucal, Calamba City while Leandro Palacio in Gulod, Cabuyao.
Matta said Christian Labayo, a known drug user who was also tagged in robberies, was shot dead by unidentified assailants in Barangay San Antonio, San Pedro City on Wednesday.
Also killed in anti-drug-operations were Edmar Almarez, Robinson Coloma and Jerome Moreno in Barangay Kumintang Ilaya, Batangas City and Nasugbu, Batangas, respectively.
In Quezon, Col. Ramil Montilla, Quezon police director, said Roger Nuñez, alias Negro, shot it out with police officers in a drug sting in Barangay Dalahican, Lucena City.
A certain Teddy Sayo was killed in an anti-drug operation in Barangay Poblacion Pandi, Bulacan.
Police said the fatalities were on the drug watchlist in their areas.
