Cracks found in Valenzuela’s pumping stations
MANILA, Philippines — Two newly opened pumping stations in Valenzuela City bore cracks following a magnitude 6.1 earthquake that rocked Luzon on Monday, an official said yesterday.
Public information chief Zyan Caiña said the walls of the Wawang Pulo and Coloong pumping stations showed cracks since Monday’s tremor, felt at Intensity 5 in Valenzuela.
The contractor of the project will fix the pumping stations, which are still under warranty, he said.
The P1.027-billion pumping stations were inaugurated by the Department of Public Works and Highways last April 6.
