Pinay hurt in Kazakhstan smashup

MANILA, Philippines — A Filipina was injured in a multiple-vehicle collision in Kazakhstan on Tuesday.

In a report to the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), the Philippine embassy in Moscow said Jennifer Francisco Lavapiez is in stable condition in a hospital in Astana.

Philippine Ambassador to Russia Carlos Sorreta said Lavapiez was being assisted by her employer.  

The DFA said the accident involving three buses, two cars and an ambulance left two persons dead and 27 injured.
