Erap leads survey for Manila mayor
MANILA, Philippines — Manila Mayor Joseph Estrada would likely win if the elections were held this month.
Results of a survey conducted by the Probe Data Processing and Research Services from March 18 to 22 showed that Estrada received 45.9 percent voter preference.
His rivals, Isko Moreno and former mayor Alfredo Lim, garnered 34 percent and 17.8 percent voter preference, respectively.
The poll was commissioned by Metro Pacific.
With Manila’s voter turnout expected to be at 850,000, the more than nine percent advantage of Estrada over Moreno could reach up to 85,000 votes.
Moreno was Estrada’s runningmate in the 2013 elections.
Estrada got a commanding lead in trust, awareness and voter preference.
For the vice mayoralty race, former congressman Amado Bagatsing got 49.6 percent voter preference followed closely by Honey Lacuna with 46 percent.
The poll covered 1,800 respondents from the city’s six districts.
