Ex-teacher held for molesting students

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan, Philippines — A former teacher was arrested in Tumauini, Isabela on Friday for allegedly molesting his students, all aged 13.

Geronimo Baccay, 35, was detained after he failed to post bail of P800,000 for four counts of child abuse filed by the parents of the victims.

Chief Inspector Eugenio Malillin, Tumauini police chief, said Baccay, who was also a guidance counselor,  allegedly fondled the private parts of students who come to his office for supposed “health checks.”
