MANILA, Philippines — Concerned citizens offered a reward of P200,000 yesterday for information leading to the arrest of the suspects in the killing of a Grade 9 student in Cebu on Sunday.
Senior Superintendent Debold Sinas, Central Visayas police director, also ordered Senior Superintendent Limuel Obon, Lapu-Lapu police chief, to solve the murder of Christine Lee Silawan, 16.
Silawan, a Grade 9 student at the Mactan High School, suffered multiple stab wounds while her face was skinned.
She was found naked from the waist down, but was not raped according to the findings of a local crime laboratory.
The Commission on Human Rights office in Central Visayas said it would dispatch a quick response team to help in the investigation and go after the perpetrators. – Emmanuel Tupas, Helen Flores
