Alleged drug courier caught with P3 million shabu
MANILA, Philippines — A woman believed to be a drug courier for a Taiwanese was nabbed by operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in a sting in Makati yesterday.
Susan Mata, 60, was arrested during an anti-narcotics operation along P. Urdaneta road in Baragay Guadalupe at around 9:30 a.m.
PDEA Special Enforcement Service director Levi Ortiz said they seized at least half a kilo of shabu worth P3.4 million from Mata.
Mata told police she was ordered to deliver the drugs by her husband, who supposedly sourced shabu from a Taiwanese.
Ortiz said they were verifying Mata’s claim.
More arrests
In Quezon City, 15 drug suspects were collared in separate operations over the weekend.
The suspects were arrested in Barangays Katipunan, North Fairview, Sacred Heart, Libis, UP Campus and Tatalon.
Seven persons were arrested in drug stings in Makati and Pasay cities.
They were Marlon Abustan, 22; Ferdinand Olipias, 45; Jeannet Lirot, 25; Christian Jay Regala, 22; Paul Louie Tobias, 26; Asnarbo Bongcarawan, 18, and Sherwin Visca, 25.
In Pasig City, two persons were held for alleged drug possession.
Mikko Berino, 23, allegedly yielded dried marijuana leaves.
