PAGASA monitoring Typhoon Wutip outside of Philippine area of responsibility

MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) yesterday was monitoring Typhoon Wutip.

The typhoon, as of early morning yesterday was located at 2,400 kilometers east of Mindanao, outside the Philippine area of responsibility.

With maximum sustained winds of 130 kilometers per hour (kph) and gustiness of up to 160 kph, it is was moving northwest at 15 kph.

Meanwhile, the northeasterly surface windflow will continue to bring cloudy skies and scattered rains in Luzon and the Visayas, PAGASA said.

Mindanao will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers brought by localized thunderstorms, PAGASA noted.

“Bicol region, Eastern Visayas and the provinces of Aurora and Quezon will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains due to the northeasterly surface windflow,” the weather bureau added.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy skies brought by the northeasterly surface windflow.
