19 couples exchange vows in PNP mass wedding
MANILA, Philippines — Nineteen couples exchanged vows during a mass wedding at the Philippine National Police (PNP) headquarters at Camp Crame in Quezon City yesterday.
The couples consisting of 14 police non-commissioned officers and five non-uniformed personnel took their vows at the St. Joseph Chapel.
PNP chief Director General Oscar Albayalde and his wife Cherrlyn served as principal sponsors.
“This mass wedding for PNP personnel manifests our commitment not only to be efficient law enforcement officers but also to be responsible, God-centered and loving husbands and wives,” Albayalde said in his speech.
He told the newlyweds to cherish every moment of their marriage.
“Work hard on your married life. Marriage is always a work in progress as you grow old,” Albayalde said. “After years of going through the ups and downs of married life, after years of raising a family and facing challenges and dangers of my work as a uniformed officer, I still find it in my heart to say that marriage is the most wonderful thing that ever happened in my life.”
The police Chaplain Service organized the mass wedding in celebration of the 28th PNP founding anniversary.
