Drunk worker chases student with hand saw in Valenzuela City

MANILA, Philippines — A drunk construction worker was arrested after allegedly chasing a Grade 8 student with a hand saw in Valenzuela City Tuesday night.

The 14-year-old boy was on his way home with his friends when he was chased down Feliciano street in Barangay Mapulang Lupa by suspect Jimmy Mengote, 51, who was brandishing a hand saw.

The suspect also punched the victim in the eye and threw a glass of liquor at him, police said.

The suspect will face charges of physical injuries and grave threat in relation to child abuse.
