Soldier wounded in Isabela clash

TUGUEGARAO, Cagayan, Philippines — A soldier was wounded in an encounter with suspected New People’s Army (NPA) rebels in Barangay Burgos, San Guillermo, Isabela on Sunday.

A report of the 5th Army Division in Gamu, Isabela identified the victim as Sgt. Rafael Camaddu of the 86th Infantry Battalion. He was taken to the Camp Melchor de la Cruz Hospital for treatment.

Soldiers on combat operations clashed with around 30

NPA guerrillas for about 20 minutes, according to the report.
