‘Narco cop,’ 4 drug suspects slain in stings
MANILA, Philippines — Five drug suspects, including a police officer, were killed in drug busts in Laguna, Bulacan and Rizal in the past two days.
Police Officer 3 Jennyson Serrano of the Laguna police office reportedly drew his gun when he sensed he had sold shabu to a police officer who posed as a buyer in Barangay Bubukal, Sta. Cruz, Senior Superintendent Eleazar Matta, Laguna police director, said.
Matta said the fatality was tagged as a protector of drug dealers in the province.
Six sachets of shabu with an estimated street value of P350,000 were recovered from the fatality.
Also in Laguna, Fernando Sevilla reportedly shot it out with an undercover agent in Barangay Mamatid, Cabuyao City.
Jack Santavilla and a certain Tajie were shot dead when they resisted arrest in Barangay San Juan, Cainta and San Jose, Rodriguez, both in Rizal.
Leomar de la Cruz was killed in a sting in Barangay Igulot, Bocaue, Bulacan.
Meanwhile, in South Cotabato, Ernel Jancan, 33; Sonny Higera, 29, and Denver Hipe, 25, were having a drinking spree in Barangay Poblacion, Tupi when they were killed by motorcycle-riding gunmen.
In Isabela, the body of Dionisio Rempillo, 41, was found floating in a river in Barangay Ragen Almacen, Delfin Albano town.
