Autopsy sought on Pangasinan bullying victim
MANGALDAN, Pangasinan, Philippines — The family of a student who died after he was allegedly beaten up by his schoolmates at the Mangaldan National High School has requested authorities to conduct an autopsy on his body.
Chief Inspector Ariel Caballero, Mangaldan deputy police chief, told The STAR yesterday they are waiting for a team that would conduct the autopsy on Kenneth Langit, 19, a Grade 11 student and resident of Barangay Gueguesangen in this town.
George Calimlim, 19; Jayson Soriano, 22, and Jay-Ar Biagtan, 21, all Grade 12 students, reportedly beat up Langit on Jan. 15.
He died while being treated at the Region 1 Medical Center in Dagupan City on Jan. 17.
Caballero said they would wait for the autopsy report before amending the charges filed against the suspects from frustrated homicide to homicide.
Probers also autopsied the body of 11-year-old Roger Jackson Tabuñar, who died after allegedly being beaten by his playmates during a children’s Christmas party in Barangay Salay last Dec. 28.
