MANILA, Philippines — A criminology student was arrested for allegedly carrying marijuana in her bag at the Philippine College of Criminology (PCCr) campus in Sta. Cruz, Manila yesterday morning.
Security guards said they were inspecting the bags of students who entered the campus as part of standard operating procedure when they found a sachet of marijuana in the bag of the 17-year-old female student at around 9 a.m.
The guards said they also noticed fruiting tops in the student’s bag.
The student was taken to the Manila Police District Station 3, where she was charged with violating the anti-illegal drug law.
Meanwhile, alleged pusher Jarizz Eusebio, 24, was killed in a reported shootout during a drug sting in the Manila North Cemetery Thursday afternoon.
Eusebio was reportedly the source of illegal drugs among those living and working in the cemetery and its surrounding areas, police said.
Eleven persons were also arrested for drug-related offenses in other parts of Metro Manila since Thursday: five in Pasay and two each in Pasig, San Juan and Taguig.
