Baguio temperature drops to 12°C

BAGUIO CITY, Philippines — Residents of this city woke up to a biting cold of 12 degrees Celsius, the lowest so far this year. 

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said the temperature is expected to further drop due to the northeast monsoon or amihan.

The lowest temperature in Baguio last year was recorded on Jan. 14 at 11.4 degrees Celsius.

Baguio’s coldest temperature was recorded on Jan. 19, 1961 at 6.3 degrees Celsius.

The city’s signature chill is usually experienced from November to February.
