LEGAZPI CITY, Albay (Bicol Standard) — Robbers took around a million pesos in valuables from the residence of Rep. Alfredo Garbin Jr. (AKO Bicol) on Sunday morning a day after a partymate was killed by yet unknown attackers.
Garbin lost three wristwatches and checks that were kept in his personal bag.
The police said the thieves in the Garbin robbery gained entry through the window of the toilet on the second floor of the lawmaker's house in Barangay Buragwis in Legazpi City.
Garbin's fellow AKO Bicol nominee Rodel Batocabe and his aide were gunned down during a gift-giving Saturday afternoon. The National Bureau of Investigation, which has been tasked with helping police in the probe into the killings, said the attack seems to have been politically motivated.
Batocabe was a candidate for mayor in his hometown of Daraga, Albay.
