Typhoon Man-yi may reenter Philippines
MANILA, Philippines — Typhoon Man-yi left the Philippine area of responsibility yesterday, but may reenter within the next 12 to 24 hours, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services (PAGASA) said.
The state weather bureau said Manyi is not expected to make landfall and has no direct effect on any part of the country.
As of 10 a.m. yesterday, the center of the typhoon was located 1,445 kilometers east of Aparri, Cagayan.
With maximum sustained winds of 145 kilometers per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 180 kph, the typhoon was moving north-northeast at 15 kph.
No tropical cyclone warning signal was raised.
However, PAGASA said rough to very rough seas would be experienced in the northern and eastern seaboards of Luzon and eastern seaboards of the Visayas.
The northeast monsoon will bring cloudy skies with light rains over Cagayan Valley and partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rains over Ilocos and the Cordillera Administrative Region.
“Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rains due to localized thunderstorms,” PAGASA said.
