Abby Binay wants abusive Turk deported

Robertzon Ramirez - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — Makati City Mayor Abby Binay is seeking the deportation of a Turkish man who attacked a traffic enforcer when he was arrested for driving without a license.

Binay said she ordered on Friday the city’s legal department to ask the Bureau of Immigration (BI) for the immediate deportation of businessman Yuksel Ibrahim, 24, whose attack on Michael Orcino was seen in a viral video.

“We will not tolerate Ibrahim’s disrespectful and abusive behavior. He has no right to assault an officer who only asked to see his driver’s license. His behavior was arrogant and uncivilized. He should be deported and declared ‘persona non grata,’” she said.

Ibrahim’s car struck Orcino’s extended arm as the enforcer was directing traffic at the corner of Gil Puyat Avenue and Bautista street in Barangay Palanan at around 5 p.m. Thursday.

Ibrahim was charged with direct assault, threat, resisting arrest and malicious mischief.
