Cop in Duterte drug list arrested for illegal cockfights

MANILA, Philippines — A policeman included in the list of drug personalities named by President Duterte was arrested on Sunday for allegedly staging illegal cockfights in Muntinlupa City.

Police Officer 2 Yob Lopez Enguio and five others were caught by members of the Counter-Intelligence Task Force (CITF) reportedly operating an illegal cockfight at Purok 6 in Barangay Bayanan at around 10 p.m. Sunday.

The CITF conducted the operation after receiving complaints about a “tupada” staged in the area every Sunday and managed by a policeman.

The task force seized four fighting cocks, two gaffing blades or tari and P8,600 bet money.

Duterte’s “narco list” categorized Enguio as a level-two target who is allegedly involved in the distribution of illegal drugs in Muntinlupa, according to the CITF.

He was reassigned to the Basilan provincial police from the National Capital Region Police Office headquarters.
