MANILA, Philippines — The University of the Philippines has rescheduled its college admission test or UPCAT on Oct. 27 and 28.

In an advisory yesterday, the university advised examinees to hold on to their test permits earlier issued by its office of admissions.

This year’s UPCAT was postponed last Sept. 15 and 16 due to Typhoon Ompong.

The university said the postponement was made following consultations with officials and weather experts on the forecast about the typhoon.

It noted that Ompong was expected to have an impact on northern Luzon and the eastern seaboard of the country, which is the location of some of the testing centers.

The postponement was “in consideration of the nationwide scope of the exam that entails synchronized travel arrangements among others which pose undue risks to both UPCAT examinees and UPCAT personnel,” UP said.

The new schedules were not immediately announced  as the university had to assess the condition of the test centers.

Over 100,000 graduating senior high school students are expected to take the UPCAT this year in 85 testing centers nationwide.
