Cavite now has 8 legislative districts
MANILA, Philippines — President Duterte has signed a law reapportioning Cavite into eight legislative districts.
Republic Act 11069, which was signed on Sept. 14, will make General Trias the province’s sixth legislative district.
Trece Martires, Indang, Tanza and Amadeo, which used to be part of the sixth district, will comprise the seventh district.
Tagaytay, Alfonso, General Aguinaldo, Magallanes, Maragondon, Mendez, Naic and Ternate, which used to belong to the seventh district, will comprise the eighth district.
The first district is still composed of Cavite City, Kawit, Noveleta and Rosario while Bacoor constitutes the second district.
Imus and Dasmariñas constitute the third and fourth districts, respectively.
Carmona, General Mariano Alvarez and Silang comprise the fifth district.
There are around 1.8 million registered voters in Cavite.
