Farmer dead, 3 hurt in Maguindanao blast

MAGUINDANAO, Philippines — A farmer was killed while three others were wounded in an explosion in Barangay Bialong, Shariff Aguak in this province on Thursday. 

Reports reaching the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) police identified the fatality as Abdul Asim, 59. 

Asim’s wife Farida and relatives Suban Maulana and Sema Dado were wounded.

 “Investigators are still trying to determine the type of explosives used. We cannot make a conclusion without the final report from investigators of the Shariff Aguak police,” Chief Superintendent Graciano Mijares, ARMM police director, said. 

There is a reported presence of Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters in the barangay.
