MANILA, Philippines — Mayor Guia Gomez yesterday ordered a popular buffet restaurant in San Juan City closed for five days until the city heath department verifies that it has complied with the CHD’s sanitary order.
Business permit and licensing office chief Dominic Garcia warned that failure to comply with the CHD’s recommended corrective measures would mean the filing of appropriate legal action against Chef Laudico Guevarra’s restaurant.
Gomez ordered an investigation of the restaurant, owned by chef Roland Laudico, after Karessa Mae Bulay Limpot claimed in her Facebook post that she, her parents and two siblings were hospitalized after eating in the restaurant on Aug. 19.
In a statement, the restaurant said it was closed starting yesterday for their yearly maintenance and more thorough tests and would resume operations on Sept. 12.
