MANILA, Philippines— The Metro Manila Development Authority on Thursday expressed disappointment at a viral video of a woman dancing on EDSA for the #InMyFeelings Challenge.

“Medyo insulto ho ito dahil hindi tayo nagkulang ng paalala sa mga motorist na wag mag-'In My Feelings Challenge' sa major thoroughfares,” Assistant Secretary Celine Pialago, MMDA spokesperson, said on GMA 7’s "Unang Hirit".

(This is quite an insult because we never lack reminders to motorists to stop doing the In My Feelings Challenge in major thoroughfares)

The “In My Feelings Challenge” or “Kiki Challenge” was inspired by the music video of a song by Canadian rapper Drake. Participants of the challenge dance off to the tune of “In My Feelings” with the door open in the middle of the traffic.

The dance challenge has since become a safety issue in many countries whose citizens have joined the trend.

Facebook user Tagabukid shared a video of a woman trying out the dance challenge along EDSA. This circulated online and went viral, prompting the MMDA to react on the video.

In the video, the woman's companions are seen cheering her on while she dances in the middle of the highway.

"Wait lang mag-twerk ka muna diyan. Mag-twerk ka muna diyan (Wait, just twerk there. Do the twerk)," the woman’s companion said.

Pialago said the MMDA is looking the woman and the motorists behind the video.

She added that they are verifying the identity of the woman but already have a lead on who she is

She said all the motorists in the dance challenge video could be fined P5, 000 for the first offense of the Anti-Distracted Driving Act. A second and third offense carries fines of P10,000 and P15,000.

A third offense also means a three-month suspension of the motorist's driver's license.

The authority said the offender may also be charged for reckless driving.

Both the MMDA and the Department of Transportation earlier issued warning to motorists and advised them to prioritize safety before jumping into the dancing challenge.
