MANILA, Philippines — Police have arrested three Chinese nationals for kidnapping a computer engineer in Makati City.

The Southern Police District, in a statement, identified the three suspects as Wana Ping (46), Yuan Jun (47) and He Ping (45).

The three, who are in the Philippines as tourists, allegedly kidnapped a 28-year-old computer engineer who lives in Makati City. 

According to police, the brother of the victim's live-in partner sought their assistance on Monday, saying the kidnappers had demanded P300,000 for his release. 

On Tuesday morning, around 11:30 a.m., the police acted on the information and conducted an entrapment operation in a Makati condominium building.
