James Jimenez, spokesman for the poll body, said the voters registered at the Comelec offices from July 2 to July 28. The figure does not include the voters from Marawi City in Lanao del Sur.

Of the number, 1.05 million are first time voters while those who applied for transfer of registration records reached 895,246. The applications for reactivation were 179,254 while the applications for change or correction of entry were 168,326.

The Comelec conducted satellite registration in barangay halls, public and private schools, commercial establishments and jails to reach out to more voters.
