MANILA, Philippines — Senior Superintendent Dindo Reyes has been named as chief of the San Juan City police.

Reyes, a member of the Philippine National Police Academy Class of 1995, assumed command of the San Juan police during simple rites presided over by Senior Superintendent Bernabe Balba, director of the Eastern Police District, on Friday.

Reyes replaced Senior Superintendent Bowenn Joey Masauding, who was designated as comptroller of the Police Regional Office 8.

Reyes was previously assigned with the Calabarzon police.

Balba ordered Reyes to intensify the war on drugs and rid the city police of rogue personnel.
