MANILA, Philippines — At least 34 fishermen were rescued after their boat capsized off the waters of El Nido in Palawan on Thursday.
Navy personnel rescued 28 of the fishermen while nine other fishermen were transferred to another fishing boat.
FB Athan Uno sank some 21 nautical miles west of Guntao island after it encountered big waves and strong winds.
The fishing boat left Occidental Mindoro on July 31, according to boat captain Rodolfo Palacio.
