PBA player’s taxi driver held for robbery

MANILA, Philippines — An employee of Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) player Douglas Kramer and a male companion were arrested on Monday for allegedly robbing a businesswoman in Quezon City on Sunday.

Eddie Valliente, 48, who works as one of Kramer’s taxi drivers, and Ronald Calderon, 47, were caught in their hideout in Barangay Bagong Ilog, Pasig City at around 5 p.m.

Chief Superintendent Joselito Esquivel Jr., said the suspects and three other men barged inside the house of a businesswoman in Barangay Veterans Village on Sunday at around 12:30 p.m.

The suspects herded the businesswoman and her family into the bathroom then took their cash, a television set, cell phones and other valuables worth P500,000, police said.

Security camera footage caught the suspects speeding away in a Toyota Vios (WQL-392) parked 200 meters away from the house. The car was registered to Kramer’s taxi fleet.
