Suspect in Ilocos Norte mayor’s slay killed
CAMP FLORENDO, Philippines — A suspect in the killing of Mayor Arsenio Agustin of Marcos, Ilocos Norte and his driver Mark Valencia on June 3, 2017 was found dead in an abandoned Toyota Innova in Barangay Corro-oy, Santol, La Union yesterday.
Reports received by the office of Chief Superintendent Romulo Sapitula, Ilocos police director, said the body of Reynard Mostoles, 23, was stuffed in a sack.
Personnel of the Scene of the Crime Operatives said the victim bore gunshot wounds in the face and hands.
Mostoles was a former bodyguard of former vice mayor and now Mayor Jessie Ermitanio, the alleged mastermind in the killing of Agustin. Ermitanio had denied the charges.
Agustin and Valencia were shot while inspecting a water impounding project.
