Inmate bolts jail

ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines —An  inmate facing illegal drug and murder charges escaped from his detention cell in Margosatubig, Zamboanga del Sur yesterday.

Abdulsalim Mangongaya reportedly cut the iron gills of the window in his cell at the Margosatubig municipal police station, Chief Superintendent Edwin de Ocampo, deputy director of Police Regional Office 9, said.

The escape was discovered by the duty police officer who inspected the cell at around 2 a.m.

A manhunt has been launched for the capture of Mangonaya who was arrested on Thursday for drug possession.
