4 foreigners face deportation for overstaying, working sans permit
MANILA, Philippines — Agents of the Bureau of Immigration have arrested four foreigners for overstaying in the country and for working without permits.
BI Acting Intelligence Chief Fortunato Mahanan said that the operatives conducted separate operations in Baguio, Biñan and Manila and arrested were a Korean, a Japanese and two Chinese nationals.
“All of them were caught in flagrante or in the act of violating Philippine immigration laws, thus they were arrested, detained and charged with deportation cases,” Manahan said.
The Korean was identified as Jin Jaehyung, 48. He was arrested in Baguio City on June 28 for being an undocumented alien. The bureau also found upon checking derogatory records that Jin is wanted by Korean authorities for fraud.
Japanese national Akitoshi Kadobayashi, 32, meanwhile, was arrested in Biñan City, Laguna on July 3 . Kadobayashi had been working in the country as a sales manager since 2017 without a work permit and visa.
The BI also arrested Li Yan Yan and Lin Feng Jian, both Chinese nationals, who were also working in Manila without permits. The Immigration bureau also said the two also failed to present their passports or any immigration documents.
