BATANGAS — Taskforce Halili has conducted Wednesday a re-enactment of the assassination at the Tanauan City Hall parking lot where Mayor Antonio Halili was shot dead by a sniper during the flag-raising ceremony on Monday.

Headed by Calabarzon police chief Chief Superintendent Edward Carranza, the group used a mannequin to establish the position of Halili when he was shot.

"The gunman was elevated four meters high and covered himself with tall grass. The ground distance between the gunman and Mayor Halili thru the rangefinder was around 162 meters while the aerial distance is around 76.8 meters," Carranza said in a press conference.

The police investigators likewise revealed that the bullet used by the gunman was a 5.56 metal jacket.

"Kaya pababa ang trajectory ng bala kasi mataas ang posisyon ng gunman at nakadapa sa ilalim ng masukal na damo," he added.
