Woman dies after jumping off bridge

MANILA, Philippines — A woman died after jumping off the Mandaue-Mactan Bridge in Lapu-Lapu, Cebu yesterday.

Dailyn Ibao, 19, who works at a karaoke bar in Barangay Pajo, was seen alighting from a taxi before she jumped.

Tax driver Joel Quibolana told police that Ibao asked him to drop her off in the middle of the bridge. He said he was surprised when the woman suddenly alighted and ran.

Personnel of the Central Visayas Emergency Rescue Unit Foundation recovered Ibao’s body and brought her to the Lapu-Lapu City Hospital, where she was declared dead.

Prior to the incident, Ibao reportedly had a misunderstanding with her partner.
