Ozamiz mayor’s son pleads not guilty to drug raps
MANILA, Philippines — A son and namesake of slain Ozamiz mayor Reynaldo Parojinog pleaded not guilty to charges of possession of illegal drugs before a Quezon City court yesterday.
Reynaldo Parojinog Jr. was arraigned before Judge Nadine Jessica Corazon Fama of Regional Trial Court Branch (RTC) 79.
He faces drug charges in connection with the police raid on their family compound that led to the death of his parents and 13 others.
The younger Parojinog is also facing three counts of illegal possession of firearms and another case of possession of explosives before the Quezon City RTC Branches 105 and 104.
He has a pending appeal to consolidate his cases before Branch 105, which was previously denied.
His arraignment comes a day after his sister, Nova Princess, also pleaded not guilty to the charges of possession of firearms before Quezon City RTC Branch 95.
She also has a pending drug case before another court in Quezon City.
