Manila city jail raid: Weapons, contraband seized
MANILA, Philippines — Authorities confiscated weapons and drug paraphernalia during a raid on the Manila city jail at dawn yesterday.
The raid dubbed, Oplan Greyhound, was conducted by members of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency and Manila Police District.
According to a report on GMA News, police recovered improvised tooters, bladed weapons, weapons created from utensils, power tools, cigarettes and extension cords.
K9 units were used in the operation.
Numerous Oplan Greyhound operations have been conducted in the past to rid the New Bilibid Prison in Muntinlupa and other jails of illegal drugs.
