Robbers hit Bataan mall

Raffy Viray - The Philippine Star

BALANGA CITY, Philippines — Cash and valuables worth at least P7 million were carted away by suspected members of the Termite Gang from a mall here on Friday.

Footage from the closed-circuit television cameras installed at the Bataan Vista Mall showed three members of the gang entering the Camella office and All Shop Bodega on the first floor and Core Pacific Money Changer on the second floor.

The suspects took P1.4 million worth of local and foreign currency from the money changing shop, a laptop from the Camella office and watches from the All Shop Bodega.

The group, believed to be from the Cordilleras, reportedly entered through the septic tank drainage at the parking area to outwit the mall guards shortly before midnight.

City police chief Superintendent Byron Allatog has launched a manhunt for the suspects.
