MANILA, Philippines — Manila Mayor Joseph Estrada yesterday urged 5,400 newly-elected Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) officials to serve the public and be role models for the youth.
Estrada led the mass oathtaking of the SK officials at the San Andres Sports Complex.
He asked the youth leaders to support the city government’s programs.
The mayor expressed confidence that the SK officials would perform their sworn duties in the development of their barangays.
“You should meet the expectations of the people who elected you. You should perform your duties with utmost honesty,” Estrada said.
“I hope that you will be inspired to work harder for the benefit of your communities,” he added.
Prior to their oathtaking, the SK officials underwent trainings to improve their personal, managerial and leadership skills.
