MANILA, Philippines — A member of the Philippine National Police Special Action Force (SAF) was arrested along with her partner while allegedly engaged in a shabu session in Barangay Tuktukan in Taguig City yesterday.
Lyn Tubig, 38, was nabbed along with her partner, John Vincent German, 21, and the latter’s father Fernando, 43, National Capital Region Police Office chief Director Guillermo Eleazar said.
Eleazar said at least 1.5 grams of shabu and drug paraphernalia were seized during the operation.
In Quezon City, a drug suspect known only as Doo died after he allegedly engaged police in a shootout in Barangay Gulod at around 1 a.m.
Chief Superintendent Joselito Esquivel Jr., director of the Quezon City Police District, said Doo allegedly sold a sachet of shabu for P1,000 to a policeman who posed as a buyer.
Suspected drug pusher Delson Bulanday, 34, was nabbed in Barangay Kaunlaran at around 1:10 a.m.
Fourteen more drug suspects were apprehended by police in barangays Payatas, San Antonio, Paang Bundok, San Roque, Escopa, Culiat and Tatalon.
In eastern Metro Manila, police apprehended seven drug suspects in the past two days.
Chief Superintendent Reynaldo Biay, director of the Eastern Police District, said six suspects were nabbed after they were caught in the act of sniffing shabu in Barangay Rosario, Pasig City.
They were Manuel Baniqued, Nomar Lago, Enrico Baliena, Manuel Hibay, Erwin Libao and Gerald Lucas.
Suspected drug pusher Jerome Aguilar was collared after he allegedly sold P300 worth of shabu to a policeman in San Juan City. – Emmanuel Tupas
