MANILA, Philippines — A 43-year-old jobless man was arrested after he went amuck and killed a street dog when his neighbor, a store owner, refused to give him food in Quezon City on Friday.
Superintendent Albert Alberto, Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Station 3 commander, said Ramon Bautista is facing charges of violation of the Republic 8485 or the Animal Welfare Act.
The incident happened in Barangay Baesa at around 2 p.m. when the suspect asked Janine Mallillin, 26, a retail store owner, for food but she refused.
The suspect then pulled out a 12-inch knife and trained his sights on a dog owned by their neighbor Jonalis Brimon. He stabbed the canine in the neck, killing the animal.
Barangay peacekeeping officers arrested Bautista and turned him over to QCPD Station 3.
