2 Tondo candidates in PDEA narco list elected
MANILA, Philippines — Two candidates in Tondo, Manila who are allegedly in the narco list of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) won in the barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections.
Marcelino Ortega was elected chairman of Barangay 199 after garnering 697 votes.
There were 1,380 registered voters in the barangay, according to the Commission on Elections.
Vener Collao, incumbent chairman of Barangay 780, won as councilor with 364 votes.
The wife of another barangay chairman, who is in the PDEA list won unopposed in the elections.
Susan Dulay Bartolo succeeded her husband, Arnel Dungo, as village chief of Barangay 255 in Tondo.
Bartolo received 410 votes out of the total 731 votes cast during the polls.
PDEA chief Aaron Aquino said they were preparing charges against winning and losing candidates on the drug watchlist.
