BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya, Philippines — The National Grid Corp. of the Philippines (NGCP) has assured the public of stable power supply during the barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) elections tomorrow.

Lilibeth Gaydowen, NGCP North Luzon public affairs officer, said contingency measures to avoid transmission-related outages are in place as early as March.

“NGCP is set to activate its overall command center from May 11 to 17... to secure power transmission operations and facilities,”Gaydowen said.

“Line crew, engineers, pilots, maintenance, testing and other technical personnel are strategically positioned at NGCP substations to respond to line trippings should these occur,” Gaydowen said.

The Department of Energy-Luzon field office also formed a task force to ensure stable and reliable power supply on election day.

The task force will coordinate with the NGCP, National Transmission Corp., generation firms, distribution utilities and other industry players to secure transmission lines and substations to avoid power outages.
