7 suspects killed in shootouts

CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna, Philippines — Three alleged drug pushers and four other suspects were killed in alleged shootouts with police officers in  Cavite, Laguna and Quezon in the past two days.

Jervie Garcia, alias Pungkol, and a certain Bilas allegedly shot it out with anti-drug operatives in stings in Barangay Samala-Marquez, Kawit, Cavite and Cotta, Lucena, Quezon, respectively, on Tuesday night.

Aurelio Demetillo Jr., alias Jojo, drew his gun when he sensed he had sold shabu to police officers who posed as buyers in Barangay Amaya 2, Tanza, Cavite yesterday.

Two motorcycle-riding men who reportedly robbed a gasoline station fired at responding police officers in Barangay San Juan, General Trias, Cavite on Tuesday.

In Laguna, two unidentified men accused of taking the motorcycle of Erwin Sayno allegedly shot pursuing law enforcers in Barangay Banlic, Cabuyao at around 5:30 a.m. yesterday. – Emmanuel Tupas
