Teacher faces raps for abusing students

BALANGA, Bataan, Philippines — A teacher and her brother are facing charges for alleged physical and sexual abuse of seven Grade 2 pupils at a public elementary school in Orani town.

The president of the Parent-Teachers Association of the school accompanied the parents of the victims in filing criminal charges against Arceli Maris and her brother Goido Fabian for child abuse and rape. 

The teacher reportedly hurt the pupils using sharp and pointed objects and badmouthed them in separate incidents from June 2016 to March 2017.

Fabian allegedly raped a nine-year-old pupil in the presence of some of her classmates.

Orani Mayor Efren  Pascual Jr. ordered the school board to investigate the incidents.
