Informant shot dead in Caloocan

MANILA, Philippines — A police informant was shot dead by an armed assailant in North Caloocan Friday night.

Arnold Sucgang, 21, was walking along Lansones street in Barangay 178 when the assailant shot him in the neck before midnight on Friday.

Sucgang was an informant whose tip led to the arrest of robbery suspects Danilo Yrinco and Joseph Consular in Barangay 178 Thursday night, according to Police Community Precinct 5 commander Senior Inspector Rengie Deimos.

Randy Vicente was tagged as a suspect and an accomplice of Yrinco and Consular, Caloocan police chief Senior Superintendent Restituto Arcangel said.

Police confiscated a .38 caliber revolver and a sachet of shabu from the suspects.
